When Andrew Lloyd Webber did "Love never dies", they recorded the album in advance of both the previews and opening, and then it was released at the same time as it opened, but the problem they had, which "Bat out of Hell" wouldn't have, is that they had to make changes during previews because things didn't exactly go to plan, and also if you watch the Melbourne DVD and then listen to the original album, the whole opening of the piece is different. "The Coney Island Waltz" had lyrics in Melbourne, although still predominantly instrumental, and "Til I hear you sing" was at the top of the show. Then the crowd number "Heaven by the sea" was completely lost, although some of that music could still be heard in "Only for you". > > I may be in the minority here, but I would rather just > > have a conceptual album than the musical at this point. > > For one it guarantee we can all hear his new stuff, and > > for two it is probably a lot easier to create. > > That worked for "Evita".
