| Just spotted this on the dotvfans web site, having googled for Ryan's email address to see just how secret that was. Given Ryan's comments on dotv here in the past, I wonder just who actually posted the following in his name ... I misjudged this show, and I feel really awful about it. DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES was an exhilirating experience, but like I said, it wasn't like my elder one in Stuttgart. As far as the music went, It was OK, but the talent was tremendous. I prefer Michael Crawford in PHANTOM, but still, he was brilliant! Max Von Essen and Mandy Gonzalez were the highlights of the evening, especially when they sang BRAVER THAN WE ARE - I cried! I got designing tips from David Gallo for my own vampire musical, and in particular, I'd like to congratulate him. His art has inspired the vision of my musical, and I'm eternally in his debt. To Rene Auberjonois, you never cease to amaze me! To Julia Murney, who never made it as Magda, good luck with THE CONFIDENCE MAN - I'm very eager to see what you sound like in a Steinman musical. To the entire cast, crew and orchestra, Jim Steinman, Michael Kunze, David Ives, John Rando, this production was certainly a memorable event for me, and despite its short stay, I'll always remember it and treasure it. 'Twas the first show I ever saw in Broadway! THANX ALOT! | |
