| Apparently Jim wanted to collaborate with Meat on Bat 3, so that it would be a really special project like Bat 1 and Bat 2. But Meat gave him a six month deadline and Jim said it would take much longer than that. So Meat decided to do it with Desmond Child, throwing in Jim songs, so that the public would be fooled into thinking that Bat 3 was a Jim and Meat collaboration. I don't like to criticise Meat. In his prime he was as exciting as Elvis. But what a shame he couldn't have waited. I have heard rumours that he has a serious medical condition which will eventually stop him from being able to tour or record. Perhaps that is why he rushed. It was not just the songs and production that Jim needed time for. He needed to fix Meat Loaf's badly damaged voice. If you read Meat's book, his voice was damaged before Bat 2 and it was Jim who used a number of methods to bring it back to life. If Meat had let Jim help him, not only would Bat 3 have been great, but his tour would have been far more successful. He wouldn't be loosing his voice half way during a concert. But perhaps the medical condition rumours are true and poor old Meat had no choice. | |
