I did a post about this song not too long ago. "Born to Run" is an epic song about Peter and Wendy, created by a perfectionist using the Wall of Sound technique as a tribute to Phil Spector. That describes Steinman pretty well, and it's likely that there was some influence. Interesting side note: the only song from the BTR album that Weinberg and Bittan didn't play on was the title track. In the end, as pointed out in the previous thread, although this particular song sounds Steinmanesque, the two artists generally have different roots and different styles.
