According to Wikipedia (reliable source, I know), the budget was $50 million, which is how much it grossed in the US and Canada. Worldwide it made $150 million. Movie companies never officially report a profit, though, that way they don't have to pay the people who worked on it. It's an evil system.
According to RottenTomatoes, the movie gets an 85% positive rating, with the average review being 7.6. Additionally, it got a lot of critical acclaim.
I've never seen it, but most people seem to like it.
