Warren is brilliant. If you want to get the full experience, purchase Warren Zevon, Excitable Boy, then skip ahead to the 90s and get Life'll Kill Ya and his dying album The Wind.

If you want more, get Sentimental Hygiene. "Even a Dog Can Shake Hands" and "The Factory" are both on that, and they don't sound like most of his other stuff but are intense and exciting. I also have a soft spot for Transverse City, but I think that might just be because I love the songs "Networking" and "Splendid Isolation."

Also, Stand in the Fire, his early 80s live album, is absolutely amazing. So much energy.

Warren Zevon is the only songwriter whose music I enjoy as much and as consistently as Jim's. By that I do not mean that I enjoy almost every Zevon song (I don't--he has produced some clunkers), but he never falls off my Favorites List.
