| Right there with you, GT. The first two albums are the best, some quality drop-off in the 80s, much more hit or miss, and then he hit a real stride throughout the 90s. "Mr. Bad Example" through "The Wind," you really can't lose. I also am particularly fond of "Life'll Kill Ya." "The Wind" disappointed me a bit; I guess I expected too much profoundness from a dying man's album. One track though, "Numb as a Statue," sounds like it could have been on "Excitable Boy." I love that one. "The Factory" is one of my favorite Zevon song's, though I don't love that album so much. I love the way he sings/screams "polyvinyl chloride!" I've only just heard "The Envoy" with its re-release, and I'm quite pleased. It sounds like a close-cousin of EB, whereas the actual follow-up, "Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School," was scarcely related. In Meat Loaf terms, "Excitable Boy" is Bat I, "Bad Luck Streak..." is MatLaF and "The Envoy" is "Bad Attitude." At least, that's my initial impression. Also, what do you think of "Never Too Late for Love" ? I think it really "Steinmans Up" mid-way through. I'd like to hear Jimmy produce this song. > Warren is brilliant.
