The question isn't whether Jim could reach notes, it is whether Jim did reach them. I realize that Jim has said that the natural place for his voice is in the bass range, and I hear that, but with a multi-octave ability, Jim's range of capability is much wider. He did reach the substantial notes in all those songs. For an example, you can listen to "Not Allowed To Love" and hear similar notes he reaches there. Rory's voice is that of a male soprano, which does not give the voice the low tone at the high notes. He was along with Karla on the tours in lieu of a second female singer. Go ahead and correct me if such is wrong, but that is all that I heard about him at the time, and hearing him on the Bat Out Of Hell DVD bears this out.
