| oh, an 3l33t Macky got his feathers ruffled. How sweet. > That's horse shit and you know it. Or you WOULD know it if > you ever sat down and thought about it. > No particular reason to think about whether the apple gets worms or not. It doesn't run the software I'm running on my machine, so it doesn't qualify as an alternative. Same goes for Linux. > The only virus / trojan etc that ever permeate Linux / Mac > are cultural / social (and even then Mac shits all over > Windows in terms of warning you exactly what you're doing > by trying to open an application that claims to be a > picture) If you're opening an executable while you're thinking it's a jpg then I'd consider it to be a PEBCAK. 100s of warning popups get annoying very fast and you can count on users disabling every one of them. > Have you read the details of the latest Hack a mac > competition? Fucking laughable. Something with an axe? Or did Sony win effordlessly and later was disqualified because they did so unintentionally? > No, nothing is watertight and bulletproof. They all have > flaws and you gotta have an ounce of smarts about you. but > if you SERIOUSLY think that mac would have more virus > troubles / as much trouble as Windows if it had a larger > market share then you're an idiot. There's no bigger holy > grail for dickhead virus writers than to write a wide > spread and destructive piece for the mythical mac > platform, it would get much more attention than yet > another face in the crowd of a million pieces of spyware > for Windows. See, there's the problem, wide spread + Mac = Impossible due to the limited marketshare. Running Windows since the 90s, online since 95 and didn't have a single virus, trojan or dialer problem. And as for stabilty, haven't seen a blue screen or a total sys lock up for ages either. If people are stupid enough not to have protection and not to update then it's their sole problem. Still see enough users with ancient browsers hitting pages eg. | |
