Steve Barton's performance as Count von Krolock was only slightly rivaled by Meat's rendition of "For Crying Out Loud", from my POV. I have never been moved by Meat Loaf's voice. Sure, the songs, yes. But not his voice. Barton's voice moved me. Bonnie's voice is very distinctive and you say that no one can sing a Steinman song like Meat Loaf? I disagree because I think Meat would have slaughtered "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" and it would never have been the hit it is today. OK, we don't know that, but still... Perfectly likely.

There's also Holly Sherwood, Elaine Caswell and Jim Steinman himself. Only Jim Steinman's performances on "Left In The Dark" and "The Graveyard Shift" come the closest to Barton, to me, and that was a million times better than Meat ever was.

Of course, I am saying this all from my opinion. Because when I think of Jim, I don't think of Meat as being the mouth-piece to his vision. I see him as one of the many artists who's recorded his songs and lived them. But they never moved me like Barton, Sherwood, Caswell and Steinman did. There are others, but they're not that noteworthy to me
