Hmm, interesting. OK. Richard Stilgoe did "Starlight Express" with ALW and that was huge. But Charles Hart was relatively new to it all. Steinman, on the other hand, had "Bat Out Of Hell" and "Total Eclipse Of The Heart". Most everyone knew what they were by 1984. Didn't they? I think everyone would have known if Jim was involved with "Phantom" whereas Hart and Stilgoe seem to have joined the hall of obscure librettists who did half the work on the most famous musical works of all time.

That would have been phenomenal. But I think it would have lasted the same as "Jekyll & Hyde". I don't think it would have caught on and become a cult hit like it did in Germany. But we'll never know. I just wish Braunsberg would stage "Vampires" in London
