Brilliant description of Westlife! And yes, I'm fairly sure that's why Jim's mix of Total Eclipse was rejected. Their whole appeal lies in selling records to people who have never heard the (far superior) originals of anything they record and they have to be inoffensive (i.e. bland) enough to appeal to the occasional record-buyers - the middle aged women, the 12 year old girls - that make up their audience. I like that Jim wanted to work with them though. They are the Barry Manilow of modern day music after all. > | |
