| First off... Wolf, hun, you make some valid points, but your tone is rather harsh... it reads like bashing, whether this was intended or not... Let us not forget that it was Meat who brought Jim to the public... and that most of us are here (on the board, in our lives) thanks to the work these guys did together... So... a few dozen discussions about Meat on a Jimforum... are only to be expected?? But... as I said... Wolf makes a few very valid points. After all, what is left for Meat?? First off... HCTB was a failure... fair and square... no matter how many concerts the man does, no matter how many are sold out... the fact that most die-hard fans choose the songs from HCTB for their beer break says it all... If this was his way of going out with a bang... he poofed... I wonder if the man still has a good album left in him... he does his best work with Jim... and as far as I am concerned, that chapter should be closed. Especially since... after Monster, I'd be really really disappointed if Jim ever worked with Meat again... In fact, I think I'd loose all respect for Jim if he ever crawls back to Meat. My 2 reasons for stating this so harsly...?? The whole situation around it was horrible... for both of them, and for us as fans... I seriously cannot understand that he made that album, under that title, without Jim... My second reason:...Blind As A Bat... Meat has always shown that he is very very sensitive to hidden meanings or hidden messages and is a hugely talented 'read-between-the-lines' person... and then you record a song with a verse that goes... *I'm not afraid of the truth no more, I'm not afraid that I'm bad for Good... I used to dance to the devil's beat, if I could bust him to hell I would...* and you do not get that people might read something into that?? Yes, this speech savours strongly of bitterness... I am aware... call it bashing if you want, but there you have it... that's how I feel... As for his film career... short of a few cameo's and a few B-movies... that didn't really happen either... Closest he got to a big hit was Fight Club?? He plays well, and I think he is an amazing actor, both on tour and on film, but unfortunately that seems to have been something he has not been focussing on... He always says he sees himself as an actor rather than a singer... yet he keeps focussing on the singing lol... Oh, for the record... House is not a crap show!!! So to sum it all up... - film/tv seems not to be a priority - the Jim chapter should remain firmly closed - he seems incapable of making superb albums without Jim... though he does have a few good songs/things out there... call it bashing... call it realism... call it depressing... call it a challenge... call it what you want... the question remains... what is next for Meat?? -K- who suddenly got the feeling her post was no better than Wolf's... only longer.. lol lol | |
