If Jim and the casting couch are wanting a 'named' lead for a brand new musical then they aint going to put that person through the rigmarole of auditioning live on TV, it would be demeaning to them.
That said, I think a 'named' male lead and a 'Find Me A Wendy' TV type show could work well.
