| The best movie musicals have been more faithful. Typical movie goers don't like musicals period. And trying to trick them into seeing them has failed. Watch the trailers for Rent & Sweeney Todd. You'd never know they were musicals. They never ever show a character singing. And they both failed. You can't trick people who hate musicals into seeing one and expect them to be happy about it.
