Burton's changes ruined the show. He stripped out all the humor (stuck in a little Burton Humor) and replaced singers with people who couldn't sing. I can't stand the Burton movie but can watch the Broadway show endlessly... Not to mention the Movie was a Box Office failure. I think any good show could or could not work as a movie. The main thing would be having Polanski direct... the second thing would be getting a proper English Translation... the third thing would be proper casting The main thing would be doing it as a proper Sung Though musical sticking to the original script... not trying to Re-write it for the screen.
